Claim Deadlines Winning Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Easy 5, Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing in which the prize was won.
Winning scratch-off tickets must be claimed within 90 days of the announced game closure.

Lottery Retailers
Lottery retailers are required to pay prizes of $50 or less and are strongly encouraged to pay prizes of up to $600.
Lottery Headquarters & Regional Offices
The Lottery has five regional offices in New Orleans, Lafayette, Alexandria, Monroe and Shreveport. Prizes of more $600 may be claimed at any office; however Lotto Jackpots and Powerball & Mega Millions prizes of more than $510,000 must be claimed at the Lottery's headquarters in Baton Rouge.

When presenting your winning ticket, you must provide current photo identification and verification of your Social Security Number.
Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto jackpot winners should call the Louisiana Lottery at 1-800-735-5825 for specific information on claiming jackpot prizes.
By Mail
Since original tickets are required for payment, we encourage you to redeem your tickets in person as outlined above. However, prizes other than Lotto jackpots and Powerball & Mega Millions prizes of greater than $510,000 can be claimed by mail if that isn't practical. You may want to ask your postmaster how to minimize your risk when mailing your original winning ticket to our headquarters location.
To claim your prize by mail do the following:
Print and complete the Winner Claim Form. You may send one completed form when redeeming more than one winning ticket.
Include all original winning tickets only. For draw-style games, please wait until all draws are complete on your multidraw game ticket(s) before mailing your winning ticket(s) to our attention.
Print your name on the back of each of your winning tickets.
Send photocopy proof of your Social Security Number when claiming a winning ticket with a prize of $600 or more.
Mail the Winner Claim Form, original winning tickets, and a photocopy of your Social Security Card (if claiming $600 or more) to:

Tax Facts
The Louisiana Lottery Corporation must report winnings from each single ticket with a prize value over $600 to the Internal Revenue Service and the Louisiana Department of Revenue and Taxation. Income tax regulations require the Louisiana Lottery to withhold federal taxes from each prize over $5,000 and state taxes from prizes of $5,000 or more.
A gambling income statement, a W2-G, is mailed to the claimant by the end of January in the calendar year following the payment of the prize. The W2-G is mailed to the address entered on the claim form unless we are notified of an address change before the W2-G is issued.

Lottery prizes are paid in accordance with State Law, Game Rules, Game Directives, and Retailer Regulations. Lottery ticket purchasers agree to comply and abide with the same.
The Louisiana Lottery Corporation reserves the right to use the names and the city or area of residence of all prize winners for advertising and publicity purposes.
Any child support owed by a winner may be deducted by the Louisiana Lottery Corporation before the prize is paid.
